Right of central government to make laws for Delhi: Amit Shah

New Delhi: On Thursday (August 3), the debate on the Delhi Service Bill began in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah argued in favor of this bill in the Lok Sabha. Along with this, he strongly criticized the AAP government.

Regarding the Delhi Service Bill, Amit Shah said, the Constitution has a provision that allows the Center to make laws for Delhi. The opposition says that this bill is against the Supreme Court, but that is not true.

Amit Shah said, some people say that the government has violated the Supreme Court. I want to tell them that they only read what they like. I haven’t read it much. The Supreme Court order also said that Parliament can make any law for the Delhi Capital Region (NCR).

In 2015, a party came to power in Delhi whose aim was only to fight, not to serve. The problem is not the lack of right to change, but gaining control over the vigilance department to hide corruption like building bungalows for themselves. The central government introduced the Delhi Service Bill in the Lok Sabha last Tuesday (August 2).
