Bhubaneswar: A shocking fact has come to the fore regarding the crime cases against women and the punishment rate. According to the NCRB report, the conviction rate in Odisha is only 8.3%.

According to NCRB report-2021, Mizoram has the highest conviction rate of 81.8%, while it is zero in Lakshadweep and Puducherry. Andhra Pradesh: 5.6, Arunachal Pradesh: 32.3, Assam: 3.9, Bihar: 53.1, Chhattisgarh: 30.9, Goa: 5.3, Gujarat: 5, Haryana: 17.7, Himachal Pradesh: 21.2, Jharkhand 47.7, Karnataka 8.2, Kerala 14.5, Madhya Pradesh 33.5, Maharashtra 13.7, Manipur 29.6, Meghalaya 60, Nagaland 63.6, Punjab 20.8, Rajasthan 45.2, Sikkim 37 5, Tamil Nadu 17.9, Telangana 11.2, Tripura 19.3, Uttar Pradesh 59.1, Uttarakhand 47.2, West Bengal 2.5 percent. Apart from this, in Andaman-Nicobar 11.7 percent, 23 in Chandigarh, 3.8 in Damandiu, 50 in Ladakh, 38.4 in Delhi and 9.1 percent in Union Territories like Jammu and Kashmir. However, in India the conviction rate is reported to be 26.5%.
