The Central Government formed the ‘One nation One election’ committee under the leadership of former President Kovind

The 'One nation One election' system is to hold all the elections simultaneously across the country.

Election News : To monitor the implementation of the ‘one nation one election’ system, the Union Government today formed a ‘One nation One election’ committee under the leadership of former President Ram Nath Kovind, reports ‘India Today’.

The members of this panel or committee will be notified later.

It is worth noting that in the special session of the Parliament to be held from September 18 to 22, the Central Government may introduce the ‘One nation, One election’ bill.

The ‘One nation One election’ system is to hold all the elections simultaneously across the country.

However, the opposition parties have strongly criticized this decision of the government, saying that it is difficult to hold all the elections simultaneously in a multi-party democracy.

Currently, the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections are being held separately in the country. However, its supporters say that if this is introduced, the election expenses will be reduced.

According to the information received, 60,000 crores were spent in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Expenditure incurred by political parties for contesting elections and election commission of India for conducting elections is included in the above budget.
